[WELTRAUM I] Istanbul Walkabouts
The walking project Istanbul Walkabouts is a research project by Nazlı Tümerdem. With the ethnographic and artistic methodologies she critically examine how different investments affect changes in the landscapes of northern Istanbul. She started the project with the aim of creating awareness of the ecological consequences of neoliberal urbanization processes in the Istanbul regions. In Berlin, I had the opportunity to join a walk organised by Nazlı as part of a research workshop on critical geography. The walk didn’t leave me discouraged, so I asked Nazlı a little more about her project.
